This illustration is a hand-drawn digital reconstruction of a historic heraldic ornament, inspired by classical European baroque and imperial coat-of-arms compositions. The artwork faithfully translates a sculptural reference into a refined line-art engraving style, emphasizing symmetry, ornamentation, and historical accuracy.
The illustration is executed in fine monochrome line work with stippling and engraving-style shading, giving the piece the appearance of a traditional copperplate engraving while remaining digitally produced. Particular attention was given to symmetry, ornamental scrollwork, textile folds, and heraldic detailing, ensuring both historical authenticity and visual elegance.
At the client’s request, we created several variations of the final coat of arms vector file, each emphasizing different heraldic elements, as illustrated in this image and one below.
This variation emphasizes the same heraldic elements by presenting them in black.
This is the original photograph that served as the basis for the reconstruction.
Another Coat of Arms project.
This is a modern reinterpretation of a client’s family coat of arms, based on a historical drawing.
