This custom illustration of Corvin Castle was drawn by hand in Adobe Illustrator, beginning with a network of lines that established the perspective, proportions, and architectural structure. Color, shading, and texture were gradually developed across the towers, stone walls, bridge, and surrounding vegetation. Originally commissioned for a white T-shirt, the artwork was later adapted for canvas printing with a softer, watercolor-inspired finish.
The project follows this process from the first structural lines through the development of color and texture to two finished interpretations, each tailored to its intended use.
The original commission was an illustration for a white T-shirt. Detailed architecture and greenery were balanced with open white space, while the clouds remained simple outlines. This treatment kept the composition light and allowed the white background to become part of the design.
At the client’s request, the illustration was then adapted for printing on canvas. Painted cloud forms, softer foliage, and a more atmospheric background introduced a watercolor-inspired character while preserving the architectural detail of the original drawing.
From the outset, this project was conceived as a digital illustration drawn entirely by hand. To document its development, a new version of the vector file was saved at the end of each working day, preserving the drawing’s progress over time.
The timeline presented here shows only part of that record. It offers a closer look at the creative process—the gradual construction of the illustration, day by day, as lines, shapes, color, and texture came together.
