Created for the August 2026 issue of Nautik magazine, published by SpainMedia, this custom map illustration visualizes the path of the total solar eclipse across Spain on 12 August 2026. Inspired by antique cartography and classical engraved maps, the artwork combines historical aesthetics with accurate geographical information to create an engaging editorial illustration.
Editorial map illustrations require a balance between visual storytelling and geographical accuracy. For this project, the eclipse route was presented in a vintage cartographic style inspired by historical atlases and engraved maps while remaining clear and informative for readers. Decorative elements, typography, and color palette were carefully selected to recreate the character of classic printed maps without compromising readability.
